Ventilation is an important part of boat design, especially wooden boats. I extended the coachroof forward of the mast (the oval hole allows for mast rake) and made the section around the mast a wet locker cum dorade box. Seen here, the central raised section of the coachroof is still to be constructed and incorporates ventilators at high level to let air from the wet locker into the cabin. Opening the locker hatches makes them act like air scoops. A drain hole to the deck can be seen by the corner of the hatch opening. Ventilators in the aft bulkhead of the coachroof allow through ventilation.
