Built by Howard of Maldon in 1881 she is 50' on deck. The boom crutch is removable and replaced by a tonking post similar to the post to starboard. She has no horse for the mainsheet, just an eyebolt in the deck. And still only 4:1 purchase on the mainsheet, she must be hard work in a blow. Then again, with more purchase, the mainsheet would have to be even longer than the hefty bundle seen here on the boom. Beautifully fashioned chock for the rudder.
