A simple flat bar strap round an oak deadeye. The shroud chain is simply bolted through a link between the jaws of the strap. Strap 25 x 4 (1" x 5/16"). M10 (3/8") bolt. 12mm dia (1/2") lanyards x 6m / 20' each. I found it very difficult and time consuming to get equal tension on each of three shrouds each side of the smack and still end up with a vertical mast at the desired rake. |
