The left hand chain plate carries the topmast shroud tackle. Bawleys carry a bigger topsail on a taller topmast than a smack and their boomless main can be quickly brailed up to clear the decks. Lovely craft. Just two shrouds to the mast each side. Bowsprit run-in in the background on this pic taken during a lay-up work day. |
